This project was born after I sold a Trailblazer 4200 motor to a customer to be installed in a 1954 Chevrolet Bel Air. The customers installation was a success but with a lot of work. I decided I really liked the concept and went about buying a 1950's vintage Chevrolet for my version of this change over. I bought a burned out 1953 from Insurance Auto Auctions in Los Angeles, CA.
The car was burned on the inside but the body was still good, with only a little warpage to the roof. I didn't care about the interior much because I planned on using the interior from the donor Trailblazer I was getting the drive train from.
What we eventually did was cut the body off of both the Chevy and the Trailblazer, and swithched the53 to the 2005 Trailblazer chasis. We also used the firewall and floor, so that we included the late model air conditioning and interior.
